Milwaukee, WI–With their 67-5 win over Stevens Point (watch it here), Hamilton Girls’ rugby became the first team outside of CMH and DSHA to advance to the state 15s rugby finals in over a decade.
Hamilton will face DSHA, a team that has won 15 consecutive Midwest championships, 14 state championships, and 7 national championships (including the last one).
If Hamilton wins on Sunday, Hamilton will be the first team in state history to win both a 15s and 7s title and the first to hold all three of the league’s major titles (D1 15s, D1 7s, and D2 7s) concurrently.
This is Hamilton’s first appearence in the state finals. They finished 3rd in state in 2018 and 2021.
The championship will be played at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex (6000 W Ryan Rd, Franklin, WI 53132) on Sunday, October 30th at 6pm. Admission is $5.
