Sussex, WI–Not only was it Hamilton’s most successful season on the field, but also in the classroom. Fall grades have been posted and Hamilton girls’ rugby earned a record-setting GPA of 3.56. That GPA would be good enough for the team to make the school’s high honor roll (3.5+). The team’s GPA was calculated by determining the average of the 37 girls who were registered with the team for a majority of the season. Of the 41 girls who practiced/played with Hamilton this season, twenty-four earned a 3.5+ GPA and were included on the school’s high honor roll, another team record. The team’s highest GPA was a 4.5.
The previous team record, set in 2018, was a team GPA of 3.39. That team had 21 players on the school’s high honor roll.
Hamilton has a 4.0 scale for GPAs, but students can earn up to a 5.0 GPA in AP courses.
The following players have earned a certificate for being a “scholar athelete,” achieving a 3.5+ GPA while playing in a rugby season. They should stop by Mr. Holloway’s room to pick up their certificate.
